Reese - 6 Months

Dear Reese,

Today you are six months old. You weigh 17 lbs (68%), are 27 inches tall (89%) and you head circumference is in the 93%. You are such a big, healthy girl, but your feet are still so tiny! You are wearing size 1 shoes which are meant for 0-3 month olds and they are big on your feet. You are also wearing size 6 months in clothes but you can easily fit into the size 9 month clothes as well because of your height.

You smile a lot and talk very loudly if we are not paying attention to you. You love to watch your big brother, Will, play and you love to play rough with Daddy.

This month you started sitting up by yourself. You can do that for about a minute before you lose your balance. You are also so close to being able to roll from your back to your stomach.

You like to have something in your mouth at all times. People ask me all the time if you are teething (which you aren't yet) because you always have a finger, a fist or both hands in your mouth.

You love to bounce in your doorway swing but you don't like to stay in one place for too long.

You still have blueish grey eyes and dark brown hair although it is falling out and thinning. It is just as crazy as ever.

You are still waking up around 5:30 AM to eat, but I'm hoping that will change soon since we are about to start you on solid foods.

You rub your eyes when you get sleepy and you still let me rock you to sleep. That is something that I love to do and I cherish those moments because I know soon you will be too old for that.

We love you!

Here are some of my favorite images from the weeks leading up to Christmas:

We did an Advent calendar for the first time this year. Matthew's family did one when he was growing up so he wanted to continue the tradition. Will could not wait to open his box each day.

His present was hidden in the bathroom!

We also have another tradition where we paint our children's hands and feet and make something out of their handprints and footprints. This year, we made an angel for Will. His footprint was the body and his handprints were the wings. I have a photo album where I store all of these prints so we can look back at them.

Dylan Kile's girlfriend, Jolyn, bought Will a Thomas tent and book. He's in love!

Will's Bible class teachers, Dana Gardner and Mindy Tyndall, gave all of their students a cute picture frame with their photo in it and a book about the story of Jesus' birth.

So excited to break out the Christmas dresses the Sunday after Thanksgiving!

Reese and I went a few days early so that I could go to Andrea's bachelorette party. We stayed at my parent's house for a few days and then moved over to the Morgans for Christmas when Matthew and Will came into town. The day after Christmas, we moved back over to my parent's house to celebrate Christmas with them and to help with all of the wedding festivities.

Will got lots of new Thomas toys...

...and puzzles.

Henry and Will were very interested in each other's toys.

They love to wrestle.

Waiting at the top of the stairs until all of the adults were ready....

...and then racing down to see what Santa had brought for them.

We started a new tradition this year where each of our children received a new pair of pajamas on Christmas eve.

An awesome Thomas backpack that Matthew found at Goodwill.

They did everything together.
