Bits of Fluff

I'm finally getting to work on this chair and I cannot wait to show you the finished project, but this is what I found when I woke up this morning. Yes, my dog has decided to start chewing on the nasty old seat. She never chews up anything! I hope she doesn't get sick.

Lamps

I'm looking for lamps for my living room. Aren't these cute? I saw them at Pier 1.

This lamp has a strip of fabric from my curtains on it. Don't you think it would look fabulous in my living room?

Orchid Sandals

Another friend of mine just had a baby and asked me to make her a special pair of sandals to wear home from the hospital. I made these orchid sandals with double snaps so that her little girl can wear them all the way through the summer. Why is white so hard to photograph?

You can purchase a pair of these sandals for $24.99. Just leave a comment on this post with your contact information. The pattern for these shoes can be found on Ravelry.com.

The sandals below were made by the person who created the pattern. Her pictures are much better than mine, so that is why I included them here. Again, I did not make the sandals below, but I can make these sandals in any color that you choose.

Baby Burp Cloths

A good friend of mine is having a baby girl in April, so I made some custom burp cloths for her precious child. I used three different prints of vintage material and cut up a brand new white towel that I purchased from Target. For each print, I made a burp cloth that was plain and one that was a little more special. I did one with a double row of tiny ruffles, I hand embroidered her child's name on the yellow check material and I monogrammed the last one.

I would love to make a set of six for you or a friend. The set sells for $34.99. Please leave a comment and let me know what you would like. Thanks!

Wedding Garters

A friend of mine is getting married and asked me to make her a set of garters: one to wear and keep and one to toss at the reception. I custom made these garters for her using stretch lace, dupioni silk, Swarovski crystals and a few rhinestones and faux pearls.

If you would like to purchase a set similar to this one, just add a comment to this blog and let me know. The set is $29.99.

I've Been Busy....

I know I haven't been really keeping up with my blog lately, but I've been really busy with lots of projects. I promise. Over the next few days, I want to share with you some things that I have been working on, so check back daily!

For starters, here is a sneak peek at the curtains and pillow that I made for my living room. I am in the process of redecorating my living/dining room. I've had it decorated in reds, purples and golds. I got tired of that and am now transitioning to a more cheerful set of blues and greens.

Spring Break Ski Trip

Over spring break, we took a trip with some families from our church to Winter Park, Colorado for a week of skiing. We had a blast! We roomed with Jimmy and Tina Crouch who were such a blessing to us last week. Jayma Davis and Le Ann Finch volunteered to watch Will for us since they weren't skiing. They made our week so much better! We feel so grateful to them and everything they did for us. Here are a ton of images from our week.

15 Hour Bus Ride

Will was amazing! He did not have one meltdown.

Me and Tina Crouch

Matthew is skiing so fast that the camera couldn't catch him. :)

Dylan fell on our first day of skiing and broke his clavicle.

Poor Dilly.

I love this painting that was in a local dessert shop.

We did a photo shoot with Will in the snow. This was his first time to ever see snow. He didn't really care for it.

This is my favorite!!!!

Love love love

Katie Nesser, Katherine Cummings, Rachel Giles, Sarah Cummings, and Spencer Finch

This pretty much sums up Will's week. He got tons of attention from everyone who went on the trip.

Will at 10 Months

Dear Will,

You are ten months old. I can't believe that in just two short months you will be one. You are a joy in our lives and you make countless people smile each day. I was waiting in a very long line at a used clothes shopping event a few days ago and the woman in front of me, after standing in line for one hour, exclaimed "I just cannot believe how good your little boy is! I have three children and they would never have been this good." That is just one of many comments I hear weekly. You are such a laid back child. You love people and you were just content to sit in the stroller and people watch for a whole hour.

You love this giraffe and it is one of your favorite toys. Someone gave me this giraffe as a gift at one of my baby showers and I was very thankful, but I didn't see what was so special about it. I had heard that many babies loved this toy, but I just didn't get it. I'm so glad she gave me one because you think it is the best! It is easy to hold, makes a squeaky noise when you squeeze it, and it great for sore gums.

On your ten month birthday, your first tooth made its appearance! Most babies have four teeth by now, but not you. I thought they would never come in, but they are finally here. The day after your birthday the second tooth showed up, so your bottom two teeth are growing in.

You have started making other sounds and are trying to say new words. You still say "Da da" a lot, but now you are trying to say "dog", "bye-bye", and sometimes even "woof". We are still working on "Momma".

Daddy loves to tickle you and so does G-Daddy. You think they are so funny! I don't let them tickle too long because I hate to be tickled. I don't know why God made us laugh when we get tickled even if we don't want to because that makes people think you are enjoying it when maybe you're not. :)

You are still not crawling, and I am pretty happy about it. It makes my life so much easier. Pretty much every other baby your age in the nursery can crawl with ease, but everything I've read says that some babies will never crawl and it doesn't matter if they do or not. When I hold your hands and help you stand you can take a few steps, so I think you will just bypass crawling and go straight to walking. You want to move so bad, but you are just not there yet.

I think you love to sing. Sometimes I will be singing really loud in the car and I can hear you in the backseat talking really loud, but more in a sing-song voice. It is so cute to hear!

You love for Daddy to throw you in the air and you also still like to do flips. You are not scared of anything!

We are still working on the spitting food issue, but you have let up on the screaming. Overall, you are a wonderful and easy baby. I am extremely proud of you and still think you are the cutest baby I have ever seen (some of the youth group kids say the same and think you should be the next Gerber baby). Nobody compares to you and it melts my heart when I get your big slobbery kisses. We love you so much!
