One More Time....

We went to Abilene....again. This was Matthew's last trip of the summer so Will and I made the trip for the 3rd time in 2 months. My in-laws were gracious enough to let us stay at their house for the week. Will loves getting to spend so much time with his grandparents and aunts and uncles. While we were there, my dad had to have his 3rd knee surgery to correct some scar tissue. I was happy to be there to support him. Here are some pics from the week:

Bella

On July 6, 2011 our precious little Pekingese, Bella, passed away. We were staying with my parents in Abilene and somehow she accidentally fell in their pool and drowned. It was very tragic and heartbreaking for our family. Matthew and I got Bella at the local animal shelter for our first Christmas six years ago.

She was a good dog, but very high maintenance. We were worried how she would treat Will when we brought him home from the hospital, but she was great. She watched over and protected him. She would regularly sit next to him when we put him down in his bouncy seat.

She was also a good companion to Brinkley, even though she was a little bossy and wouldn't let Brinkley have dinner until she had eaten first.

We will miss you Bella. We wish you were still here with us, but we enjoyed the time we had with you while you were here. Love you.

2 Months Old

Will, you are two months old and have brought your father and me more joy than we could have anticipated. This month, you are a lot more alert. You have a bouncy chair that has 2 birds hanging from above and you could spend forever laughing and staring at those birds. You also love to look at any light or fan that you can see. Your grandmothers love to take you all of their homes to look at different light fixtures and you even love to look at photographs.

Your father has been traveling a lot this summer. He has been to Colorado twice to take kids on a mission trip and a climbing trip, so we headed out to Abilene to visit the grandparents those two weeks. They love you! I send them a picture of you almost everyday that we aren't together and they cannot get enough of you.

You are almost sleeping through the night. The longest you have gone so far is 7 hours one time. Most of the time you sleep for about 5 hours at night, and I feel lucky if you go 6 hours. You are a great eater and have caught up in weight and size even though you were a little premature. You currently weigh 12 pounds, 7 ounces and are 23 1/4 inches long which is a little above average. You are growing out of most of your 3 month old clothes which makes your mommy very sad. I don't want you to grow up so fast!

Your first 4th of July

You love to be outside. One of your favorite things is to sit out front on the Morgan's porch with Possum and let him sing to you. He loves to sing his own original song "Puppy Land."

You missed your Daddy so much while he was away. You two laid in bed and laughed and talked.

You are the prettiest baby I have ever seen.

I love you!
